How we’re maintaining a safe and hygienic work environment at AP
The coronavirus crisis means that more people are concerned about safety working environments and hygiene standards than ever before, and we know that includes our clients. We’ve always kept a strong focus on health and hygiene standards here at AP Skincare, and to provide extra reassurance we thought we’d take a moment to tell you a bit about how we ensure our skincare clinic remains clean and safe for our clients. First of all, we abide by strict standards set out by HTM-01-05 – key government legislation which sets out a set of essential safety standards. We’re also accredited by the Care Quality Commission, the British Dental Association and Denplan, all of which set out their own strict codes which we make sure to abide by.
Our cleaning policy
When you step into our skincare clinic in Blackburn, one of the first things you’ll notice is that we don’t look like a salon. This is because we make sure all clinical procedures are performed in a clean, clinical environment that can easily be disinfected between clients. That means:
- The entire room is disinfected between each patient visit, with a particular focus on all work surfaces
- We use regulated viricides and bactericides that have been specified individually by the relevant health authorities, in order to minimise the proliferation and spread of germs and viruses.
- As you’d expect, we also frequently wash our hands with carefully chosen sanitiser. This method has proven to be by far the most effective in minimising the spread of the coronavirus.
All this keeps both you and us safe from passing on any type of bacteria or virus (such as Covid-19) and we are very strict about adhering to these procedures.
Our uniform policy
As part of our commitment to maintaining a safe working environment for our staff and clients, we also maintain a firm uniform policy. The danger of cross-infection is never far from our minds, and we do our best to minimise physical contact wherever possible.
- Our uniforms are cleansed on a frequent, regular basis, and worn in a way that minimises contact between patients and staff
- It includes a clinical mask, apron, and gloves and eye protection. We’ve added hair scarves and bibs while we operate at the moment
- We don’t wear jewellery, and make sure that our hair is tied up where appropriate
- The uniforms are changed at least once between each patient, and sometimes more than that if we think it’s safer to do so
These are just a few of the key measures we’re taking, but don’t forget that if you’ve got any additional questions or need any advice during this period, our staff are always on hand to help put your mind at ease! You can get in touch by giving us a call on 01254 297 000, or emailing us on enquiries@apskincare.co.uk. We’re here to help!
