The benefits of regular dental appointments and screening

We want our clients to love their smile – part of that comes from regular dental appointments and screening to help you keep your teeth and gums healthy!

Taking good care of your teeth and gums can be split into two categories preventative and reactive care. Typically, reactive care comes from unpreventable situations that cannot be handled at home, whereas proactive care encompasses both at-home solutions and dentistry services.

To help illustrate the different types of oral care, we’ve compiled this guide to help you protect your teeth and gums.

Reactive Care

As we’ve touched on above, reactive care comes from urgent situations like chipped teeth, tooth pain, or other external forces.

We recommend with these types of issues, for health and safety reasons, you should seek help from a professional as soon as you notice an issue. That way you can get the help you need right away! When it comes to tooth pain we do not recommend you wait until the issue resolves itself because it will likely just get worse which may end up costing you more money and down time in the long run.

When it comes to emergency dental care we know when your in pain you need help – the faster the better! We reserve several appointments throughout the day to help new or existing clients get the dental care and advice they need right away – please give us a call.

Proactive Care

There are many things you can do at home to help protect your teeth and gums. We recommend starting with regularly brushing your teeth and removing food with interdental brushes and mouthwash.

Another part of proactive care is booking and attending regular dental check-up appointments. During these appointments, our professionals can spot problem areas inside your mouth and make recommendations to improve your oral health.

aftercare

At the appointment we might suggest you schedule a dental hygiene appointment or tailored deep clean for your gums in order to improve your oral health. After the cleaning our experts provide additional advice and demonstrations to help you protect your smile.

There is a number of cases where a dental emergency might have been prevented or slowed by having regular dental screening – from things caused by plaque build-up and unhealthy gums.
