How We Keep You Safe At AP Skincare

Here in the UK, we’ve witnessed quite a rise in patients suffering from infections arising from quite simple procedures, often as a result of poorly-prepared skin. Safety is crucial to what we do at AP Skincare, and we strictly adhere to our high standards in the interests of protecting you, our patients. As well as making sure you’re properly prepared, we apply this same rigorous standard of hygiene and safety not just to cleaning and preparing the equipment in our skin treatment centre here at Blackburn. This week on the blog, we’ll tell you a bit about how.

Preparing You For Treatment

Here at AP Skincare, everything we do is centred on what’s best for you. That means it’s our duty to keep you fully informed on the best ways to care for your skin, including the possible risks of any treatment. We’ll always make sure you feel completely supported at every stage, and we’ll never rush you into a decision. This means that by the time you start a procedure, you can do so in complete confidence that it is the right treatment for you.

Before the treatment begins, we make sure you’re comfortable and happy, and not suffering from any anxiety that might affect your treatment. Then we clean and disinfect your skin thoroughly using a top-of-the-range product called Clinicept. This removes any tiny amounts of fungus and bacteria that might otherwise contribute to later infections. When this is done, you’re ready to begin the treatment.

How We Look After Your Skin During The Procedure

All of the equipment in our skincare clinic is single-use and disposable. Now, if you’ve ever accidentally used someone else’s razor or something similar, you’ll understand why this is important! Using disposable equipment minimises the chances of cross-contamination, where bacteria or germs are transmitted from one patient to another via medical equipment.

We take our guidance from HTM-01-05, which is a set of guidelines issued by the Department of Health that provide best practices on the best ways to decontaminate medical equipment. It applies to our dentistry practice, AP Smilecare, too. Our skincare professionals are highly trained, with years of experience in the industry. Our founder, Jo Prasad, has over a decade of practical experience under her belt, and the safety and wellbeing of her patients throughout each and every procedure is her absolute highest priority.

The care we devote to our patients doesn’t end immediately with the treatment. We’ll always recommend at least one, sometimes two follow-up appointments to make sure that you have the best results possible, and both you and your skin are happy and healthy. These appointments will generally be between one and two weeks apart, so we have enough time to make sure of the results.

Of course, if you’ve got any queries at any stage, we’ll always try and provide the answers, and reassure you regarding any concerns you might have. You can even call our Blackburn treatment centre today on 01254 297 000, or pay us a visit in person, where one of our friendly members of staff will be pleased to help you.
