3 common myths about anti wrinkle injections and dermal fillers
Over the years we’ve heard our fair share of dental and skincare myths here at AP Skincare, but personally I’ve […]
Read MoreFestival season is all about having fun, but that doesn’t mean your skincare routine has to suffer because of it. There’s nothing worse than having an amazing time away at a festival with your friends, only to have it followed by dealing with breakouts, dryness, or any other skin issues as soon as you get home.
At AP Smilecare, we’re big on helping our customers achieve healthy, glowing skin. We offer a beautiful range of luxury skincare products that work synergistically with nature and science to renew, rehydrate, and re-volumise your skin. These products are the perfect addition to your festival line-up. However, if you’re wondering what we think the absolute skincare basics are when it comes to packing up your tent and supplies, let’s take a look!
We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again. When it comes to festival skincare, SPF is an absolute must. When you’re spending long days under the sun and out in the open, protecting your skin from UV rays is essential. Be sure to consistently apply a broad-spectrum SPF that’s at least factor 30 to protect your skin from both harmful UVA and UVB rays. Remember, it’s crucial to reapply every two hours to maintain the needed level of sun protection.
Even if the weather seems overcast and slightly miserable, UV rays can still penetrate the clouds and damage your skin, so don’t be fooled! Aside from stopping you getting burnt, SPF also helps prevent premature ageing and reduces the risk of skin cancer. Apply in the morning on a freshly washed face or use it as part of your skin prep under your makeup.
A spray SPF is a mess-free and easy way to keep your skin protected and your makeup locked in all day. You can quickly take it out of your bag when you need to, spray yourself down and carry on with your days without worrying about the long-term effects on your skin’s health.
When you’re at a festival, one of the last things you’re likely to think about is a regimented skincare routine. However, there are a few essentials that it’s always good to have on hand, and one of them is a way to cleanse your skin at the end of the day whether you’re wearing makeup or not.
In an ideal world, traditional cleansing with a cleanser and a sink would be the number one choice, but it’s not always available at festivals. Cleansing wipes are ideal for swiftly removing dirt, sweat, and makeup. They’re compact, easy to use, and can be thrown in your bag for easy access throughout the day. The same goes for makeup-dissolving balms or micellar water with cotton pads. If you just make sure you’re getting off as much dirt and makeup as you can before you go to sleep at night, you should be good to go. They might not be ideal in the long term, but it’s certainly better than not using anything.
A hydrating facial mist is going to your best friend at a festival for a quick burst of hydration – especially if it’s hot! Festivals, while they’re incredibly fun, can be very drying for the skin, and if you’re already someone with dry skin, you don’t want all of your festival fun to be at the cost of your skin that you work hard to maintain the other 51 weeks of the year. A travel-sized facial mist is perfect for keeping your skin cool and hydrated throughout the day. Look for mists that contain soothing ingredients like aloe vera, cucumber or rose water to provide instant relief and hydration. It’ll also help keep your makeup looking fresh. Just pop it in your bag and pull it out when you’re on the go!
Now is probably not the best time to try a new moisturiser. Stick to something reliable that works well with your skin type; the last thing you want to deal with while you’re at a festival is a breakout! Take your favourite outside and apply it in the morning and evenings, and between your hydrating mist and SPF, your skin should be more than happy throughout the duration!
